What's New
Yoink is a handy Mac tool for grouping together files you want to copy or move, and the just released version 3.5 update adds in new macOS Mojave support. The new update adds Handoff support between the Mac, iPhone, and iPad versions, adds Finder Quick Actions support, and is Dark Mode compliant, too. Yoink is priced at US$7.99, and the update is free for current users.
What’s more, Yoink’s Quick Action shows up in the Extensions pane now, and can be enabled or disabled there. It was time to take a look and see how this was implemented, so I looked in /Library/Services, only to find that (still) doesn’t exist. There is a Services folder in /System/Library, but that only contains some older workflows and other items which don’t appear in the list of Quick Actions anyway.

You can copy a URL in Safari and have Yoink download the attached file, which you can then drag out of Yoink or interact with directly in Plus, those files can then sync over iCloud to for the iPhone, ensuring your recently dropped or downloaded file is available everywhere. You can also use the Yoink keyboard extension for dragging saved bits anywhere you can use the iOS keyboard. I don’t have an iPad I use regularly, so I can’t comment on the iOS version of the app. But I’ve used the macOS version of Yoink for years on various Macs.
